Edexcel BTEC Sport
At English Martyrs students get the opportunity to study BTEC Sport alongside their core Physical Education lessons. In year 10 and 11 students study Edexcel BTEC Level 2 First Award in Sport. This knowledge for Sport and Exercise can be developed further in year 12 & 13 by studying Edexcel Level 3 National Subsidiary Diploma in Sport. Edexcel BTEC Level 2 First Award in Sport (year 10 & 11)
If students choose to study BTEC Sport as part of their options choices for year 10, they will studying the following areas of sport & exercise:
- Unit 1 - Fitness for Sport & Exercise (assessed with a computer based exam at the end of the unit)
- Unit 2 - Practical Sport Performance (assessed with 3 assignments, including a mixture of theoretical work and practical performance will be used)
- Unit 3 - The Mind of a Sports Performer (assessed with 3 written assignments)
- Unit 6 - Leading Sports Activities (Assessed with 2 written assignments, including the planning, delivery and evaluation of their own student led sports coaching session)

If students choose to study BTEC Sport in year 12, they will studying the following areas of Sport and Exercise:
